Busy but Lightroom 2

•July 2, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Hey dudes I just wanted to say I’m not updating because I am a bit busy right now I have to study so when the exams pass I will have more free time for this blog.

However I found a new program. It’s called Photoshop Lightroom 2. When I heard photoshop I thought this will be great. The difference between Photoshop cs and Lightroom is that Lightroom is specialized for photographs only. I mean you can do everything you can do on you Photoshop CS for improving your photos but without all the unneeded stuff. So I’m posting a picture of my Lightroom 2. Make sure you buy it and I’ll make sure to find some tutorials and tips for using Lightroom 2 and of course some of my examples. Have a nice sunny week!;)

Frans Lanting’s lyrical nature photos

•June 10, 2009 • Leave a Comment

This is a video on photography i found in www.ted.com . It is quite unique. Frans Lanting’s lecture is connected to photography because the photographs in this video tell a story, one big story about the life on Earth from the very beginning. I have to say it is interesting no only because the photographs in the video are taken by one great photographer like Frans Lanting who had worked for National Geographic magazine, but because in is very interesting to see how mysterious the life on Earth began. So I recommend the video to you and I hope you learn a lot.

Still Life: Books

книжки 2

First as always I’m going to post my own photographs of books. One of them is the one above. I think every photographer that is interested in still life phtography is going to take photos of a book ot books because there are many different and fascinating ways to make a nice photo of books. In this post you are going to see some great pictures of books and parts of books I have chosen from my work and some deviantart members’ work.

I have to say that the 4 photographs that are mine and  I’m going to show you I took with Kamen Kamenov. I think that in picturing books the angle is very important. You see the angle on the above photo is kinda extraordinary and that’s why I like it. You can picture books in black and white regime, negative or sepia etc and they can still look great! Take a look at this one taken in sepia regime:

Also the content of the picture is very important so pay attention to the background and the surroundings. Make them interesting and unusual so that your work will be a remarkable one! Of course I’ll mention the focus and the light as always are very important for a nice photo.  My advice is to find interesting books they may be old like these or torn or may be colourful and use your imagination! Also try putting different objects in the frame so that your photo will become more unusual and captivating :) Here is something you cannot see everywhere…

And now I’m going to show you some fantastic photographs of books I really really like and think you should see them too. So I found them in DeviantArt and under the photoes there is the name of the photographer. You can find some more photographs of them in www.deviantart.com .

Me feat. Kamen Kamenov

•May 27, 2009 • 1 Comment

Now I think it’s time to show you some of my work don’t you think… so with my bitchy friend Kamen Kamenov we made a  photo session and guess what – he is the model LOL! The truth is that this was may be 8 or 9 moths ago or even more but it was so much fun! So as you may think this work is kinda old but i think it’s really great and the images I’m going to show you they are one of my favourite so I really really hope you like them if not just don’t tell me lol ! :) :):) The pictures are made with my old camera where there weren’t such things like shutter or ISO speed etc. So I’m not going to tell you how hard it was to capture the best light or something it was just fun… It’s kinda interesting how we coloured his face with dark paint and how he was screaming lol but the more important thing are the pictures so here they are !

The_BEST_One

You see he got these blue eyes I could be the model but my eyes are brown and the effect wouldn’t be the same you get this..!? I have to say this one (the first one in the post) is my favourite!

The blue thing… yeah that’s a photoshop maked detail but only this and a little blur on the next one… I swear !

So these are the best images for this session I know you may think they are not so great as  I see them but I felt like wanting to post them here… and so I did. My new photographs are better of course but this is the beginning of my photography experience. Speaking of Kamen Kamenov I want to say that tomorrow oops I mean today he is going to be the main photographer on my PROM so I’m a bit exited about all this thing with the prom… So today I’m going to drink and tomorrow I’m going to sleep so I’ll post in a few days lol :D
Bye guys..

David Griffin – How photography connects us

•May 26, 2009 • Leave a Comment

This is David Griffin’s lecture about “How photography connects us” and the photojournalism.  I found this video clip in www.ted.com where you can find some more lectures about photography, design etc. May be in future I’ll post some more video clips but for now I think this is enough interesting. In this video clip you will find some fantastic photographs. Also David Griffin talks about the photojournalists and how to make stories with pictures there are some examples, too. From the stories I liked the most the one in the end of the video about the sea lion lol! I also liked the idea that photographers can make one or more great photographs but photojournalist should make fantastic photos all the time. I hope you like it !

Why photography blog?

Hello everyone! This is my first post and in it I’m going to tell you why I decided to make a photography blog instead of some other. For me photography is not just taking pictures and photos. I think it is a kind of art such as painting, music, literature and architecture because good pictures are a delight for the eyes which is one of the most important senses. And that way not everybody can be a successful photographer because to be a professional photographer you have to study a lot but also to have a talent and an intuition for the perfect photograph.

I can say I’m an amateur photographer and this blog will help some other amateur photographers to improve their skills, to see how professional photographers work and to reed some interesting and useful articles about how to become a better photographer. I’m going to post photographs, video clips, studio works, theoretical articles, fascinating materials about photography and may be some of my post will be concerning design and photoshop activities but I’m sure they will be as interesting as the photography themes.

For those of you who does not know much about photography and don’t have big books describing the main functions, camera equipments, processes and techniques here are a few links on which you can read some more about the theory of photography basics: Link1 Link2 Link3 Link4

The greatest thing about photography is that you can picture almost everything and there are many ways to do that from Black and white photography to night vision pictures. There are many types and genres of photography6 like wedding, portrait, night, nature, animal etc. and I’m going to tell you about them in my post illustrated with great photos, mine, my friends’ or professional ones.
